Volunteer with us

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Loch Lomond and The Trossachs Countryside Trust.

Our volunteers are a significant and valued resource who make a vital contribution to our work.  Without them, we could not reach as many people or deliver our projects at the same scale.  Volunteers support activities across the organisation – from our flagship Walk in the Park weekly programme to conservation support with Wild Strathfillan.

Becoming a volunteer

• Take a look at the available roles below – these will be updated throughout the year as new opportunities become available.
• Get in touch, or fill in our Volunteer Registration Forms: Online version – Volunteer Registrations Form or  Paper version – Volunteer Registration Form, if you’re interested.  A relevant member of the team will be delighted to chat to you about the opportunity.

We want all our volunteers to feel supported, and that they have the chance to develop their skills and knowledge through their time with us.  Some roles require you to complete specific training before starting, and every volunteer is given role specific training, guidance and supervision.  When we can, we’ll offer you various ongoing training and development opportunities, and chances to meet other volunteers.

Opportunities

If you have a particular skill or experience, you’d like to offer to support our work, even if it doesn’t directly fit one of our current advertised roles, then we’d love to hear from you and explore how we might be able to get you involved.

 

 

Placements and work experience

We have arrangements in place with some educational institutions to allow students to undertake placements or research projects with us.  We will promote these opportunities through relevant education institutions and programmes.  Due to being a small charity with limited staff capacity, outside of these arrangements we often cannot facilitate placements of projects directly.  It can also sometimes be challenging for us to facilitate short-term intensive work experience placements, or work experience with requirements for high number of hours each week.
